Bates Grass-Fed Beef
We raise 100% grass-fed, free-range beef on our family ranch. Our cows have a happy, stress-free life as they roam free across more than 550 acres of rolling hills that have been part of the Bates Mountain Home Ranch since 1922. We serve families who want to buy healthy, humane beef in bulk. We sell beef by the whole, half or quarter and our cows determine the exact schedule. You can tell us what kinds of cuts you like (ground beef, steaks, fillets, brisket, stew, etc), and then you pick it up in Exeter, CA, fully processed, frozen, and individually packaged. Nestled in the foothills of California's Sierra Mountains, we serve the Bakersfield, Los Angeles, Porterville, and Tulare County regions.

We’re a small operation and have a wait list. We’re currently accepting reservations for October 2025 for whole/half shares.
