We at Bates Grass-Fed Beef currently have one half-share of beef available for the upcoming harvest. The meat will be ready for pick up at Bakersfield Meats in late September. To reserve your share, please send me an email.
I will hold the shares first-come, first-served based on who emails me and then submits a $600 deposit on the website after I confirm with them.

After this current harvest, our next available set of shares will be ready for pick up in December at Exeter Meats. Please see our blog for our 2026 schedule, which details which harvests will be processed in Exeter or Bakersfield.
This year we had a gorgeous spring here at Bates Mountain Home Ranch.
One of my cows had preemie twins, which has been a challenge. The hooves of the little bull calf were not properly formed. He has a difficult time getting around, but his mama is very protective of him.
The end of summer is rapidly approaching. All of our school-age grandchildren have returned to the classroom and are looking forward to a brief break over Labor Day Weekend.
We look forward to cooler weather and rain to settle the dust.
